The Valley
Just fifteen minutes from Nova Gorica, the Vipava Valley opens like a hidden garden — a sun-soaked corridor between the high plateaus of Trnovo and Nanos and the rocky edge of the Karst.
The Mediterranean climate slips in through the valley mouth and stays: vines, peaches, cherries and olives thrive here, while the famous Bora wind sweeps down from the mountains, keeping the air clean and the prosciutto drying.

Villages & heritage
Vipava's heritage is not behind museum glass — it is the villages themselves. Medieval squares, Renaissance arcades and towers in the forest, all within fifteen minutes of each other.
Vipavski Križ is one of Slovenia's most beautiful small towns: a walled medieval square, a monastery, and silence. Goče keeps its wine in 65 vaulted cellars. And over the Karst rim, Štanjel's stonework turns villages into sculpture.
Zemono's Renaissance arcades host one of the region's great tables. Above Vipava, the old castle ruins watch the town; Rihemberk's tower rises from the forest near Branik — one of the oldest castles in Slovenia.
